For this episode we watched an old Christian film called The Hiding Place, which is a movie about Corrie ten Boom. It was very challenging and was surprisingly better than Ben expected it to be. Taryn knew that it was ggood. We also get a little technical in our discussion about Christian film and audiences and the progression, or maybe digression, of Christian film throughout the ages. We've talked about some of these things in previous episodes, but we finally get it all out in this episode...

We normally have a couple of weeks between when we record and when we upload, but we moved this episode up because we think the discussion is relevant to our current cultural mood and we didn't want to lose that. Our hearts were heavy as we recorded last week and the movie we discuss is a great catalyst to understand that a lot of the problems America faced during the Civil War are still plaguing us today. I hope you enjoy the episode. Thanks so much for listening, it means a lot to us....

In this episode Ben and Taryn discuss two movies from the other's culture. Ben loved his viewing of Barbershop and has hilarious anecdotes about his movie viewing experience. Taryn does not like the over-the-top violence in The Nice Guys, but had some interesting insights into the film. Listen for the ways they both learned through watching these movies and laugh along with them as they continue to bicker about each other's life philosophies. Follow us on Twitter at @myfriendbenpod and on our...

We discuss our first documentary today, and boy do we disagree about everything! Taryn doesn't understand Disney joy, and Ben doesn't understand the anti-vaxxer. Yes. We briefly discuss vaccinations, and we also talk about monitoring the public space known as social media and whether that is a good thing or not. Follow along and let us know what you think about these topics on Facebook, Twitter, or Youtube. And send us suggestions of movies we should watch!

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is the newest film by New Zealand director Taika Wahiti, and let me tell you, it was hilarious! We have a lot of fun reminiscing and talking about this movie, which was one of the most fun times both of us have had in the theatre in a really long time. Ben also learns the meanings of a lot of the words Taryn has been using throughout the podcast thus far. Finally the mystery is solved and Ben can sleep at night. The song in the middle of the episode is called...

Ben and Taryn watch movies by the other's favorite director. Ben hates Baz Luhrmann still and Taryn doesn't understand what all the Wes Anderson fuss is about. We also talk about the Beatles and Ben's overall ignorance of most things. One correction: Our email is myfriendbenpodcast@gmail.com Also please subscribe and interact with us on social media!

In this episode we talk about the newest installment of Paul Greengrass' Bourne series, Jason Bourne. We also discuss some filmmaking techniques at the end of the show and where the Bourne movies fit in cinema history. It's a little bit more technical of a show, but we promise it's also really entertaining still!
